Data we gather

Information you have provided us with
We will collect personal information from you when you fill out one of our forms (for example to apply to serve with World Outreach International, enquire about a trip, contact an office, sign up for an event).

Depending on why you provide us with your information, the following may be collected: your name, email address, postal address, billing address, debit or credit card details.

In some circumstances (for example, when applying to join WOI) we will ask for additional details including qualifications, expertise, work history, birth date, country of residence, passport country, etc.

When collecting your personal data, we will only ever ask for the information we need for that specific purpose.

Information automatically collected about you
This includes information that is automatically stored by cookies and other session tools. For example, your shopping cart information (when making donations or purchasing a product), your IP address, your shopping history (if there is any) etc. This information is used to improve your customer experience. When you use our services or look at the contents of our website, your activities may be logged.

Information from our partners

  • It is necessary to protect the legitimate interests of World Outreach International and its customers;
  • It is required to cooperate with interception orders, warrants, or other legal process that World Outreach International determines in its sole discretion to be valid and enforceable; and
  • It is necessary to provide to a law enforcement agency when the contents are inadvertently obtained by World Outreach International and appear to pertain to the commission of a crime.

World Outreach International disclaims any intention to censor, edit, or engage in ongoing review or surveillance of communications stored on or transmitted through its facilities by customers or others. World Outreach International will, however, review, delete, or block access to communications that may harm World Outreach International, its customers or third parties. The grounds on which World Outreach International may take such action include, but are not limited to, actual or potential violations of World Outreach International Privacy Policy and Policies and Procedures.

We use Mailchimp to distribute our email communications to you including monthly member news, forthcoming Society events and other information about our work. We monitor statistics from our mailings such as the number of opens and link clicks in each email to help us improve our communication with you. How we secure your data?

We do our best to keep your Personal Data safe.  We use safe protocols for communication and transferring data (such as HTTPS).

Even though we try our best we can not guarantee the security of information. However, we promise to notify suitable authorities of data breaches. We will also notify you if there is a threat to your rights or interests. We will do everything we reasonably can to prevent security breaches and to assist authorities should any breaches occur.

When you make an online payment for membership or an event booking, you enter a secure internet site and put your details directly into our payment provider’s secure web page.  We use Paypal and eWay as our payment gateways, you can find out more about their privacy policies here and here.

If you have an account with us, note that you have to keep your username and password secret.

Attending Our Events

At our events we may have photography and videography taking place. This material may be used for future marketing and other communications from the World Outreach International.
