God Given Solutions

The World Outreach International Director Update is updated every six weeks.
Dear Friend of World Outreach

One day is never like the next on the mission field. Our field workers frequently face new challenges and have to respond with faith in God, asking the Lord for his intervention and creative solutions. Read on to discover three recent stories from the field which reveal some profound principles we can apply to our lives.

Dedicated Discipler & Discipleship

One of our field workers, serving in a sensitive area in Sub-Saharan Africa, reported that:
“The prohibition of church meetings during the COVID lockdown meant the church had to learn to be creative with small groups of believers continuing to meet in houses. One of our Bible College facilitators was fined heavily for training his members, but the authorities were sympathetic when the facilitator asked how they could do the training, as the Lord’s command is to serve him always. The counsel that the authorities gave was that if the training happens in such a way that nobody in the community would notice it, they could continue. Our facilitator decided to continue with the training from 3:00 to 5:00 in the mornings. Nobody knew that the training was happening! What a sacrifice and example of dedication for us!”

Angelic Help

Another of our field workers, who serves in Mongolia, shared that: “It’s a normal experience to encounter angels on the mission field. One dark winter morning, I found it difficult to cross the busy street. Suddenly, the tallest man I ever saw came from behind and led me through! Still struck with his height, I looked back after a few seconds, but could not find him.”

Creative Evangelism Through On-line Platforms

Thailand is experiencing some unparalleled breakthroughs at present. One of our Thai field workers wrote that: “Currently we have 7 house churches running. Every day, we receive 4-6 testimonies from new believers contacted through our Facebook fan pages, and daily we hear from 10-20 people who are interested in knowing more about God. The gospel is heard through easy-to-understand media by more than 5,000 people each month. We are sure that the gospel is powerful. One day, Thai people will turn to the true and Living God! This is our hope and mission.”

From these field stories, I want to bring five short principles we can apply to our everyday lives when faced with unexpected challenges

Remember that the Lord is sovereign and knows all things, so he is not caught unaware by anything we are going through. We can look to him, pour out our hearts to him and fully trust him, confidently knowing that he completely understands, and will use every circumstance for our good and his glory (Rom. 8:28).

We should not be suffocated by worry or anxiety, but apply the words of Jesus when he said, “Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:33). Live one day at a time.

Instead of worrying, we should: “Cast your anxiety upon him because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7; Phil. 4:6-7; Psalm 55:22). Commit your anxieties and fears to Jesus because he cares about every aspect of our lives – even the little things.

The Lord can provide a way through any and every difficult circumstance, come what may. Remember Israel at the Red Sea (Exodus 14:13-14). We need to trust him, keep our eyes on him, wait upon him, endure with the strength he provides and believe for breakthrough. God will bring you through anything and everything you may face today.

There is a greater power that is for you, than all the power that is against you (2 Kings 6:16). God is for you, he is in you, and he is with you every day (Rom. 8:31; Gal. 2:20; Heb. 13:5; 1 John 4:4).

God bless,
