Miracles Happen When We Least Expect Them

One Chance Encounter Led to an Incredible Story of Healing!”

In April 2021 my friend and I gave out food parcels in a particular area and had the opportunity to visit 4 houses to pray for some people who were sick. At one of these houses, we gave a lady a food parcel and prayed for her eyesight and her leg. It was a once-off thing, and we never really went back to that area.

However, this year, there has been openness among other people in that same region, and the team has been able to start sharing stories with a small group there. One day when they were sharing the story of J healing the blind man at Bethsaida, the ladies in the group remarked that something similar had happened last year. A blind lady on the other side of their village had been miraculously healed after prayer.

My friend who was attending the group that day remembered that we had been there the year before and prayed for a lady down the hill. So, she tried to find out if it was the same person.

Joy and Healing!

After asking around, it turned out it was indeed the same lady we had prayed for. We arranged to meet her again and she shared her story. She is a widow and has no children. After her husband died, she had been blind for 5 years. She lives alone with her nearby relatives helping her. She used to grope around the walls to move from one room to another. Three days after we prayed for her, she started seeing light and then colour. At first, she didn’t believe it, and thought God was playing tricks on her, but then she had a moment of surrender and repentance and cried out to him, and He restored her sight.

She was overjoyed and asked around her neighbourhood if anyone knew who the people were who prayed for her. But as we weren’t regularly visiting this area no one knew us, and we didn’t know what had happened either!

As she didn’t know who we were or what we looked like she wasn’t able to find out, but always hoped to meet us again. It was only due these recent events that we were again able to meet.

We have now had the chance to explain the good news to her and she has accepted Jesus. She is eager to learn more about him. We regularly visit her each week and some of her neighbours are also keen to pray and learn more about J together.

There is an openness in this neighbourhood, and I am excited to see what God continues to do in this area. We rejoice and give praise to God for this testimony!
