Elisa Diaz

North East Thailand

Church planting and discipleship.

After 10 years at Baan Faa Mai in Chiang Mai, Elisa moved to the North East of Thailand and has been living in Khon Kaen city for almost six years. She is serving in a youth church called Jump Church alongside Pastor Nueng, his wife Ruth and some Australian missionaries. Jump Church is involved with prison ministry, children’s ministry and evangelism with a focus to build up the lives of the new believers so that they will become strong disciples that disciple others.

Elisa’s home is a refuge for women at risk and she now has four women under her care. They together, as part of the church ministry, run a Christian bookshop that opened in March 2014. North-east Thailand (Isaan) has a population of 22 million people and and only one in every 575 is a Christian.

Elisa was a theatre nurse in Uruguay for 10 years. She served as a children’s sunday school teacher at her local church for several years and in a missionary organisation in Uruguay for four years. In 1997, she moved to Rotorua, New Zealand to learn English and from there moved to Thailand.
