Graduating to Stay
Each year around Easter, it is time for some of the New Hope children to say goodbye to our boarding home and their younger friends, as they graduate from high school. Some of these students have been a part of the ministry since primary school. Some have only been here for three years, but this is a big step for all. Out of this year’s graduating group, five have felt God’s stirring in their hearts and have chosen to stay on for at least one year to serve as volunteers. At the same time, they will be trained and mentored further to grow their love for God within the calling he has placed on their lives.
Wolfgang and Heidi Oelschlegel are the Operations Managers at New Hope Ministries in Sanggau, West Kalimantan. New Hope is a Boarding Home that provides a safe and healthy environment for about 120 children from remote villages to grow in their love of God and reach their full potential.
They are also involved in holistic community development in the same region of Indonesia, supporting local congregations through teaching, training and the development of kindergartens.
