Training Arabic-Speaking Leaders in North America
In 2013, God called us out of the Middle East, where we were serving, and into Canada to plant a church among the Arabic-speaking people living in Manitoba.
The church has grown faster than expected. We started working among Syrian refugees a year ago and some of them came to faith and took bold steps. Then an Iraqi woman was healed from cancer at one of the services, and she started telling people about Jesus everywhere.
I still travel to the Middle East to conduct leadership training seminars, but I have found there is a huge need in North America for the leadership training and development of Arabic-speaking pastors and leaders.
We had our first conference for Arabic-speaking pastors and leaders in North America in September. It was put on jointly by WOI, Goal Ministries and Lighthouse Evangelical Arabic Church. Over 90 leaders attended at Wilderness Edge Retreat Centre near Winnipeg, the capital of Manitoba. Attendees represented many countries, including Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Iraq and Lebanon.
Attendees reported being blessed, encouraged and excited by this conference. Please pray for us as we prepare for more of these conferences in the future.
