Mission Intensive : Mozambique
Mozambique 1 December 2019 – 31 January 2020
Start your Mission Intensive (Mi) on the beautiful coast of Nacala, Mozambique, learning and serving alongside experienced missionaries Grant and Riana Franke. During your first month, you will have the opportunity to learn all about the Christian radio ministry and even participate in the broadcasting and on-air discussion! During your week you will serve the community by helping with the literacy program. Because the spelling system is phonetic, you can teach people how to read without knowing the language, simultaneously developing friendships within the community. You will also get to hear how the Lord is moving amongst the Muslims and learn first-hand how to bring the Gospel to a least reached people group.
In your second month you will head to Tete, Mozambique and serve alongside Riaan and Saretha Terblanche. Here you will stay in a very beautiful and nice campsite with showers and bathroom facilities. You will have an opportunity to engage in a variety of ministry activities such as street evangelism, children’s ministry, the house of prayer sessions, serve in an orphanage, work on a farm and go through some leadership training. You will also get the wonderful experience of living with a local family for a week!
During your time in Mozambique, we hope you will develop a passion for reaching the least reached and also grow in your understanding of what it is to serve long-term on the field. You will spend some time studying different mission topics via an online program facilitated by the Frankes and Terblanches. You will also commit time to learn the national language and culture. All these opportunities will help you build relationships within the community and grow in your understanding of missions.
