Encouraged and Stretched
In 2016 I returned to Ho Chi Minh City for a Leader of Leaders Seminar. The participants there are highly engaged and motivated for mission. The seminar emphasised not only being an outstanding leader in one’s own generation, but raising generations of leaders, so the mission does not die with us. This was immediately put into practice as Mary began mentoring some of the young leaders, teaching them to translate. The Holy Spirit was moving, with several leaders giving testimony of the impact of the teaching, and the accuracy of specific words of encouragement that I gave during ministry times. One pastor, who appeared to be older than me, testified of how he had been profoundly affected. He told everyone that I am his ‘spiritual mother’, and next year he wants to bring his whole family, so they can be encouraged and stretched too.
Karen is the Leader of Leaders Program Facilitator for World Outreach International, and an ordained pastor with Australian Christian Churches. She has been training leaders for over 25 years. Her focus with WOI is on equipping and mobilising the emerging generation, so that they are not merely great leaders in their own generation, but raise generations of leaders in the pattern of Christ who will impact our world for His glory for many generations to come.
