Malcolm and Sandy are team leaders of the World Outreach International Baan Faa Mai Tribal Youth Centre in Mae Chaem, and also operate Piemrak Foundation, and its home for disadvantaged university students in Chiang Mai. Sandy is also field leader for foreign World Outreach International workers in Thailand.
Malcolm was a registered land surveyor in New Zealand specializing in engineering/construction surveying and high precision deformation monitoring of landslides. He was also project surveyor for the construction of the Clyde hydro electric dam in Central Otago.
Sandy worked as a pharmacy shop assistant and homemaker. They were involved in various local church activities over many years before going to Thailand, including youth work, mission support, Christian studies, primary school outreach, house group leadership, Sunday School teaching, leadership, and helping immigrants adjust to life in NZ.
